How to reach Parma

By plane
Parma is quite close to some of the major international airports in northern Italy:

Milano – Linate or Malpensa
Bergamo – Orio al Serio
Bologna – Guglielmo Marconi

There is an airport in Parma, but currently it is mainly used for domestic flights.

By train
Parma can be easily reached within a few hours by train from the major cities in northern Italy.
You can plan your journey, book your tickets and check timetables, offers and fares on Trenitalia website.

Journey times from the main airports’ cities:
Milano – Parma: 2 hours (regional train ticket price: 11.10 €)
Bologna – Parma: 1 hour (regional train ticket price: 7.35 €)
Bergamo – Parma: 2.30 hours (regional train ticket price: 13.60 €)

The conference venue is very close to the railway station.

By car
Two major motorways have exits in the close proximity of the town:

A1 Motorway (Milano-Napoli), tollgate Parma.
A15 Motorway (Parma – La Spezia), tollgate Parma Ovest.

How to reach the conference venue

By car

• From the A1 Motorway exit – Tollgate 8, Parma
Turn right and proceed forward on Viale Europa.
Turn right at the intersection with the bridge Ponte delle Nazioni.
Proceed forward on Viale Piacenza until you reach Starhotel du Parc.

• From the A15 Motorway exit – Tollgate Parma Ovest
Proceed forward on Via Emilia Ovest for about 7 minutes.
At the main intersection in Quartiere Crocetta, turn right on Strada Baganzola.
At the second roundabout, get off the second exit and proceed on Viale Piacenza for about one minute.

Useful notes:
Carry your driving license and your vehicle’s registration certificate.
The speed limit is 50 km/h in urban areas and villages, 90 km/h on main roads outside urban areas and 130 km/h on motorways.
The historical centre is a limited traffic zone.
Starhotel Du Parc provides a parking service.

By bus

From the railway station
Use Bus line 6, direction Cornocchio – Baganzola. It stops right outside the railway station exit every 10 minutes.
The conference venue is a few metres away from the second bus stop after the railway station, on Viale Piacenza.
The bus ride lasts about 3 minutes.

Bus tickets are available in almost every tobacco shop and news stand in town.
A single bus ticket – valid for 60 minutes – costs 1,20 €.

By taxi

Walking

From the railway station
Proceed forward on Piazza Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa.
Turn right at the Viale Vittorio Bottego intersection.
Proceed forward on the bridge (Ponte delle Nazioni) and on Viale Piacenza until you reach the venue.
The walk from the railway station to Starhotel Du Parc requires about 8 minutes.
